This has become a dicey dilemma for me as I look to buy an available Verizon 4G LTE version of S3 or wait for S4? What if they release a S4 which is compatible with all carriers?
I'm willing to wait a month or two for a S4 announcement ...lol....but I wonder if it's worth the upgrade to S3 from my current TPT 10 with Verizon LTE?
Will I really see a big jump in performance ?
I know for sure that the display of S3 is awesome compared to my TPT 10.
This feature is very appealing to me to opt for the S3.

    Any opinions?

On the CPU side, the Bay Trail Z3775 is within 10% of the X7-Z8700. Graphics, on the other hand are significantly improved but still nothing life changing.

As for the S4, there is serious doubt that there will be an S4. If I had a TP 10 LTE, I would probably hold onto it for a couple of months to see if Microsoft shows its hand.

@ships10 I'd side with @Bronsky on this one. The eBay bargains are very attractive, but mine didn't pan out for wireless/WAN reasons. Buying new, even at a discount, seems risky with so much change ahead of us in wake of the Intel announcement. If you can make do with your current rig, at least hold out until the 4th of July - I think by then OEM's will have to tip their hands a bit and make your buying decision better informed. Now, if you are like me and @HeavyHanded, we're like the Duke brothers at the end of Trading Places (very end NSFW - naughty word)-

Yup sounds logical but anyone here is not logically oriented lol...
On the other hand we r all capable of waiting that is if we can develop that capacity.
I guess I heard what I didn't wanna hear but needed to hear .
I'll try to keep my hands as far as I can from my pockets and try to keep my sanity intact ..lol.
The OEMs need to get going fast...anyone listening ?
If anyone observes an S4 in deep space in the middle of the night plz feel free to post the sighting even if it looks like a UFO.

I really like my Surface 3, I bought it to replace my 8 inch baytrail that served me well for a couple fo years. Battery is a good for 7 hrs, it is pretty light, runs everything I need to to very well, screen looks good. It is reliable and does not have any inherent glitches or major driver issue like every other cherrytrail tablet I've tried.

While I would prefer an 8 inch surface the surface 3 has been a fine replacement. I got the 4GB ram 128GB drive version for $450. These specs should make it relevant until Intel/MS or some other OEM get their crap together and make a legit reliable 8 inch Win tablet with 4GB ram and a 128GB drive.

Their may not be a Surface 4 or Surface mini anytime soon since intel screwed things up. CoreM tablets are going to be more expensive.

So the Surface 3 should suffice for at least 2 years when hopefully something truly better is available.

Buy it enjoy it until something better comes along and if it does sell it on ebay.
