    But how do you go about writing via stylus online? Firefox's search bar and url bar lets you use your stylus via vista's hand writing software thingy.... but what about online stuff?

    What do you mean by online stuff? If you're using firefox, you could try the GeckoTIP extension. There's Gesso as well.

    IE supports the tablet input panel natively.
    FF supports it with the GeckoTIP extension.
    Opera 9.5 supports it natively, too.

    I wrote this reply with writepen directly onto the screen under ie.
    I wrote this using the tip. The tip seams easier especially for correcting.
