Sometime during the flash process, the EP121 just shut off. I was not watching bit-by-bit what was happening, so I'm not sure if this was during the end of the process or the middle of the process that it happened. The charge light remained on, even when I unplugged my power supply.

I used the pin between the two USB ports, and that resulted in the charge light turning off, but now when I plug the power supply back in, the charge light does not light up. Toggling the power button does not appear to do anything. My machine simply won't power on with the usual buttons.

Is there any emergency BIOS recovery routine or keypress combination?

    Thanks.

You might had an incomplete flash..try usb or dvd drive with rom extension bios to recover.

Hi CF77. Could you please post the steps on how I might do that? All visible signs point to my machine not powering up when I toggle the power button (no screen flash, no power LED, no fan noise). I could try a FAT32 USB stick with the bios.rom file on the root of the drive, but even if I tried to power on, I don't think I'd see anything. Is there a special sequence of keys I can use to do something like an emergency BIOS recovery boot to even get the machine to turn on?

I guess your one last resort is to open and unplug battery to reset rom. There was a post with picture on where the battery is.

once unplug.. and wait few minutes before re connect. I think you can do it on a glass table..that you can start without putting the back cover on
Do not break your thermal sensor when open back.

ensure plugged in power again before starting system with usb in place

Tannalv seems to have done that..he/she could help out here.

ASUS service would be your final rescue.

Thanks guys. I'll give this a go as soon as I'm in a location better suited for this type of work.

@Tannalv: Is the BIOS battery pretty easy to locate?

I was able to successfully open up the case and disconnect the main and cmos batteries, unfortunately, i was not able to get the machine to respond. It looks like it will be an Asus repair for me. Thanks for the help and the information.
