    That's way too small of a speaker, was thinking something like this.

    @bloodycape
    LG just responded, no pen support on the Wing.

    2 full work days away from a charger and still 27% charge on a 1 year old battery. Outstanding.

    That's a nice image that you have on your lock screen, but the person seems to be a little out of focus. They should have taken... oh... three or four steps further back...

    So this is the first mainstream review on the Verge of the LG Wing I've seen. I think he's right to a degree but also a bit harsh.

    LG seems to have accepted that they won't compete in the same strata as Samsung and is trying to pursue niches instead. The Velvet (also a solid phone) is another example, in that case affordable style.

    The Wing seem almost purpose built for smartphone video and has essentially a built in gimbal which makes it unique. One of our user manual writers was very interested and might even buy one specifically for that as she shoots a lot of user tutorials.

    And FWIW, I think MS might be pursuing a similar niche path with the Duo, in this case the MS office using highly mobile professional. Time will tell if these approaches can generate enough sales to justify the costs associated with developing and supporting these devices. (And LG has a terrible track record of quickly abandoning devices they bring in to market if they don't sell as hoped).

    , makes sense for video/tutorial shooting or watching. Otherwise I always thought it was kind of gimmicky compared to (full) dual screens considering it still increases the thickness & cost of the device but only adds a half extra screen.
    (I also dislike landscape mode on phones for anything else than videos because of the cramped height but I guess that is more personal.)

    FWIW, when we had one briefly a few weeks ago, one of the things that struck all of us was how solidly made the phone felt in hand. All of us, myself included were concerned about the hinge that flips the main display around and it was both exceptionally smooth and switched with a satisfyingly small but noticeable "thunk" at it locked in to either position.

    Spot on Ted - Samsung's been teasing that for years - here's a 2013 YouTube ad (1:30 mark):

    PS - I am NOT the guy with the wireless headset...
