It was very much the standard for a successful life until 1990. The real estate bubble burst and suddenly Japan was forced to realise that they worked under the same economic laws as everybody else. Nowadays few companies offer those old life time guarantees and more importantly, more and more young people are opting for more freedom and less corporate slavery.

This is actually one of the reasons that marriages are in decline and one in four males under 40 is still a virgin. They want to get away from the pressure. This is especially a problem for corporations depending on creativity for it's prosperity. Young people following the traditional path are conformists and lack the qualifications most required.

Here's an interesting idea for companion device (especially for S-Pen fans, @dstrauss ahem)

Here's a Samsung Tab A 8.0 2019 (model SM-P205, unlocked GSM, it appears on the Samsung page for the Phillipines) that works as a phone and supports S-Pen. I have it running right now on a Mint Mobile SIM with *phone* & SMS service and LTE data & speed. The included S-Pen is siloed; and it works wonderfully with the S-Pen from the Galaxy Book 12 OG.

Other than restoring my twitches about Android UI inconsistencies, I have to admit being fascinated...

Thanks, do you have the 2/3-button Navi buttons or hidden navi button option enabled?I'm kinda obsessed with minimallism with regards to my device screens, so hidden menus and navigation are very important to me. But it's grayed out when you select third party launchers as default in Android 10. Something about not being supported. Only works with the Google launcher.
