File this under - sometimes you can patent a ham sandwich (among lawyers aka a prosecutor can indict a ham sandwich). Seriously, tech companies for years have been trying to patent ANYTHING they could THINK OF in the hopes of derailing a competitor in the future or just being a patent troll when somebody does the real engineering/programming necessary to produce the device or software. Gee - I just dreamed up a folding screen device that looked like one of those laminated folding maps - better go patent that quick...

    <<...sometimes you can patent a ham sandwich...>>

...Have you ever visited the Patent Office in Washington? It's fascinating; although it may be losing some of its charm as more and more patents get digitized from the early years...

Anyway, highly recommended if you happen to be in the area.

Not sure if ham sandwich is patented or not, but some flowers actually are patented.

Corn is patented! It doesn't get more ubiquitous than corn.

On the topic. I have been messing around with the Samsung S10 and the Note 9, contemplating "upgrading" my Note 5. I seriously prefer the size and flat screen design of my Note 5 over either the Note 9 or S10. If not for external storage, 5G capability and better protection from the elements, I would stay with the Note 5. The CPU is plenty powerful and it is an almost perfect size given its use. 5G is too tempting for me to pass up, so I'll be mortgaging my house when the new Note 10 comes out. Actually, I might hold off long enough to see what is cooking at Microsoft in the fall.

You're patience has been known to pay off in the past, so if you hold off a little longer you might actually get to replace your note 5 with a Wacom penabled folding device.

Now the only question is, how long is "a little longer?"

There’s supposed to be a smaller form factor Note 10 with 5g as well.

Looks like August 10 is the release date for the Note 10. That should make availability in late Aug or September. Guess I can wait for Surface reveal before committing.

5G looks like it's ubiquitous around here.

I forget who recommended that I take another look at my full copy of Xodo. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. It is a wonderful program. Greatly improved over the early version I tried.
