This is easily the best (and most current) review of mechanical keyboards that I've ever read. If you have even a mild interest in the pros and cons of this type of keyboard, read this article!

I still use (and love) my daskeyboard Professional; it's been my reliable companion for a few years, now. However, I'm anxiously awaiting my new daskeyboard 5Q, which has fully illuminated keys and is cloud-connected (whatever that turns out to be). You can read about the 5Q here:

The Azio Levetron Mech 5 keyboard which I bought to get the D-pad is a very nice unit --- tempted by this, but I promised myself that after buying that and a USB TrackPoint keyboard I wouldn't buy anymore.

It's sort of like MS entering the hardware game, a sole supplier now competes directly (which might be seen as unfair).

This will set the price bar for all mechanical keyboards to come. Since the MX Board 1.0 has an MSRP of €90, this might mean the days of $150-200 mechanical keyboards are numbered.
