Which tablet would you say has the best battery life, with the configuration of a main and a secondary (media or spare.) I hear the hp convertible can go to 4.5 with its main.

As far as the best battery life, the Gateway tablet is king w/up to 9 hours. But, that's because it's HUGE, and so its battery IS HUGE. So it's not much of a portable in some people's opinion. If you don't mind carrying around such a large tablet, it's the best.

The Fujitsu T4020 can give you a total of approx. 8 hours with a media bay battery installed. Up to 5+ hours with the standard battery.

i have the gateway with the main and the modular battery. with normal use i can get about 5.5 hrs or so. but if i have it undervolted then i can get between 6 to 6.5 hrs. it all depends really. the main battery will give me about 3.5-4hrs.

As Barry mentioned above; Fujitsu models, especially when used with modular bay add-ons do give exceptional results.
My P7010 Laptop have two batteries (the second fitting in the ultra small DVD bay).
With this combination I can achieve 9hrs of uninterrupted battery power

    Are they?
What makes the gateway heavier? I had thought they were quite light actually! (thats what I had read elsewhere)

the gate way is like over 7lb. also, because it is widescreen I found it to be really cumbersom with the height vs width. that's why I went with an r15, the demensions fit a 8.5x11 piece of paper
