I just picked up a new ep121 from my local Fry's, and took it to a Starbucks to check it out. The thing shipped with a completely dead battery! No charge at all on it.

Weird. Anyone else? After an hour, I didn't seem to be getting a charge either. Pulled the plug out, and poof. Machine totally goes off.

I took it back for an exchange, and same thing happened with the new machine.

Guess I'll leave it overnight to see if it charges the battery. This happen to anyone else?

You should let it charge. Unless they open it up and charge the battery, there is no way they can make sure it will be charged when you get it. Over time batteries lose their charge.

Perfectly normal for the ep121 to be shipped without a charged battery. The first few charges may take a while to complete, mine was the same way. Cheers!
