Does anyone have these numbers? I would be very interested in seeing these info (especially with/without USB 2.0 devices). Thank you to any brave techno-soul for doing this.

Would the OS make a huge difference to battery life?
Yes I realise there are background running programs etc

Obviously XP Tablet is made for tablets therefore should be optimized alot better than Vista.

Actually, marbles, Vista is supposed to be especially tailored for the tablet pc. The Vista Ultimate edition has collected all kinds of various options into one center (tablet, media center) and will supposedly install on appropriate machines.

I will reply to this post as soon as I get Vista up and running on my acer c314

Vista will take advantage of special NVRAM disks which will increase battery life and decrease boot time. Samsung hybrid drives will be available in 3-4 months, or you can try it today if you stick in a SD card and format it using Vista's on-screen wizard.

I've read that this technique adds about 30-45 min to the total battery life of your laptop.

Does anyone know if buying a faster CPU results in decreased battery life?

I talk a bit about batter life in Vista in the posting under the Software section.

I basically get about 1 min per every 1 % of battery life with aero glass on, max wifi performance, max screen brightness....

except a bit more (not that much actually) when things are reduced.
