I've had an old B121 for a VERY long time, and apparently before windows 10 came out I decided to try the tech preview, then put it away for a year.

Well, now Win10 is expired. It boots to a "Recovery" blue screen where it tells me "A component of the operating system has expired".

No big deal really - I was planning on formatting, and installing Ubuntu again.

Well, I can't get into BIOS. Escape does nothing, and every time windows loads Automatic Repair, which ends in the Recovery bluescreen. F2 doesn't work, neither does the usual Esc. Tried F8,F9,F12, Del as well as about 4 different USB keyboards.

Anyone have an idea on how to get into BIOS?

I know that I've done it, but I can't remember exactly how. Usually my technique is just to keysmash the entire function key row, like doing a flourish on a piano. It's usually one of those.

I can't remember exactly, so don't quote me on this, but I have the feeling I did something with the Home key? You know, the black semicircle to the right of the screen in landscape mode. I may have held this down as it was booting? This is an old post so I doubt it's helpful to you, but might be to someone else searching, I don't know.
