I've been having the worst time figuring out the exact differences between the 4 SKUs that Samsung has available for the Ativ 700T, so I sat down with all the spec sheets and pulled out all of the differences in the models. If something isn't listed, it's because it's the same across all four models (at least, according to spec sheets and what I could find online currently.) If it's different from the A01 model, I've bolded it.

So far, the major, and most surprising differences are that the 02 has a slower clock speed, no specified graphics chip, and is thinner and lighter, while the 04 model uses Windows 8 Pro, and is a larger machine, but not with a larger screen size.

I'm still at a loss as to why there are 4 different models with such minor spec differences. Anyone know why that is?

I'll just paste the contents of a previous post I've made. It uses the same data you've found, but amends it with a few facts provided by other sources.

The only resource I've found comparing the Samsung Ativ Smart PC Pro XE700T1C A01, A02, A03, and A04 is by going to this link on Samsung's US website and changing the model number in the URL. Here's a table of the differences that the Samsung website has reported.

Edit: *Obviously a tablet whose screen is 11.6" on the diagonal can't be 11.6" in width. I have the A03 with me right now, and I can confirm that its dimensions are 11.97" x 7.46" x 0.47", so I assume that the whole range follows these same dimensions.

Here is a very helpful Amazon review that I used for better information on the A02 and A04.

Summarily, even Samsung don't have a clue what the difference between these products is.

The A03US version does not come with an Ethernet port of any type.

I don't believe any of them would have an ethernet port; they seem too thin. But yes, the A03UK also lacks one. I would recommend a USB->ethernet converter if needed (and a USB hub on top).

Ooh, thanks for the updates! I am curious to see how other shipped variants compare to the specs that Samsung reports.

I believe the weight is indeed wrong, just like the dimensions are wrong, but I have no direct proof. Perhaps online stores have a weight estimate you can compare with, but certainly don't purchase based on that statistic only.

I bought the A03UK simply because not all the differing models are covered by Samsung UK's 5-year warranty. I can't remember off the top of my head - and it says precisely which models are covered if you look it up - but it's only the A03 and possibly the A02 that are covered. Two of the four models are certainly not covered!

Someone said they weren't able to fit their A04 into a standard case because it was bigger than the A01/02/03, so I can say at least that the A04 may be bigger. In fact, the A03 is assuredly 11.97" x 7.46" x 0.47", and while this is the stated size of the A04, I guess that it is bigger still than this.

When i ordered my 700T 3 weeks ago they had both A03 and A04 in stock. So I asked the Sales lady whats the difference between A03 and A04? She said the A04 is the most recent release and would include the newest drivers etc.. So i ask what the cost difference is, she said they are the same price $1,199.. OK, i said then lets order the AO4. So we get through the information stage and when she ask for my CC # she tells me the total charge will be $1,929 plus shipping etc.. I said wait, you just told me a few minutes ago the A04 was the same price as A03, now you want to charge me $1,929, that's over $700 more then what you initially said. She said you're right sir,, can I put you on hold. After several minutes a Tech Support guy answer's asking how he can help me (the sale's girl must not have gave him any info regarding the issue) So I explain i wanted to buy the A04 and I'm being told the cost is over $700 more then the A03, what is the difference between the two. The Tech guy reiterates what the sale lady said,, the A04 is simply a newer release with recent drivers, So i ask him like i asked her,, why is the A04 over $700 more.. He says please wait sir, brings something up on his screen and say's yes, the A04 is $1,929. I again ask what is the difference between the two? He says i already told you sir, the A04 is the most recent model with the newer drivers.. I asked him well if i got with the A03 will i be able to get the newest drivers? he said the table will update drivers automatically as they are released. WTF none of this is making any sense, he agrees and says i would purchase the A03 model.. So that's what i did.. And it seems there there still i a mystery!!! WTF is the difference between the A03 and the A04? Samsung defiantly has their fingers up their behind on this one ???

I'm looking at ordering an ATIV 700T shortly - and it really is amazing how poorly Samsung has communicated on the differences between the A01, A02, A03, and A04 models!

The A04 is slightly larger - making it incompatible with some of the accessories for the other 3 models.

The A02 seems to be the only version that comes with a keyboard. Several are listed with Gigatbit Ethernet - but it looks like that comes in the form of a USB-Ethernet adapter - and not hardware inside either the tablet or the keyboard dock.

Since Samsung is doing so poorly with this, the only way may really know what the differences are will be to have people who've purchased the different models comment on what came with theirs - keyboard, Ethernet, TPM, NFC, Windows 8 vs. Pro, ...

But without that, looks like I'll also have to take a blind shot at ordering something too - and will likely go for the A02 - to get the keyboard - and hope that anything else that is missing I can add later (especially if it's just software).

ok, ill add even more confusion to this as i forgot to mention in my prior post.. when i ordered mu AO3 i asked sales lady if it came with keyboard. she said no.. So after i ordered my A03 i found a keyboard on Amazon and ordered one. when i receive my A03, well low and behold !!! it shipped with a keyboard. so now i have two.....samsung has no clue why they have four models of the same, you can defintly tell they rushed this product into market faster than lightning... now don't get me wrong, i love this tablet and have regrets buying it....so far anyway

My A03UK did not come with a keyboard; I do not think the model is relevant to whether or not you get a keyboard, and that it is merely the whim of the reseller.

I think model is prevalent, I ordered my AO3US direct from Samsung... Really confusing because all their adds describe the keyboard as optional... I've since read that anyone else ordering ordering US models direct from Samsung is also getting keyboards..

If it helps, I ordered the A01 from Amazon, and it did in fact come with a keyboard. :)

Has anyone received their Ativ and found it has the wireless WAN adapter present? I notice it as optional but I read that there are models with it as standard.

Ordered an A02US yesterday, and when it comes in, will post detailed list of what came with it, and the software/hardware configuration - to help those still trying to understand the differences between the models - and if we can others who have the other configurations to compare their configuration to mine - that should resolve this issue - since the Samsung and other online sites aren't providing this information...

Received my A02US yesterday, along with the power adapter and keyboard.

Confirmed that the T1C-A02US is a slightly different size than the T1A-A04US - so the T1A's "stand case" will not fit, neither will the T1A's docking stations.

While TPM isn't turned on - it does appear to be available in the BIOS.

There was an NFC sticker - and NFC appears in the device manager.

Windows 8 was installed (have already upgraded to Pro).

Came with 4GB of memory and 128GB SSD. 17GB of the SSD is used for the Recovery image - now that I've backed that up to another hard drive, I will be deleting that to regain the storage space.

Only major issue I've found so far is that the tablet doesn't seem to "click and lock" into the keyboard dock - will take some practice to be sure it is locked into the keyboard before I carry it off.

The covers for the HDMI and USB ports look nice, but make it more difficult to use the ports - has anyone removed these covers? And, once removed, is it possible to put them back?

Can anyone recommend a good protector to put on the back of the tablet? I've seen several skins that have colors or patterns - I'm looking for something that is clear (like Zagg's Invisible Shield)...

So your A02 did include the keyboard? Did you order it from Amazon? I'm thinking about getting that one.

    Thanks!

My A02 came directly from Samsung - and have been extremely happy with it. The only major problem is that the "right click" on the touchpad also seems to trigger a left click, making it not very usable. However, there's a workaround - configuring the touchpad to use a two-finger click to signal a right click. Otherwise, it's a noticeable improvement over my old T1A - and it's nice to have the attached keyboard in addition to the touchpad.
