I just bought that laptop and I fell in love immediately. However, the main focus is on the pen: I want to use it for serious industrial design. I'm not pleased with the pen's performance though.
The 1024 preassure levels is just too small for me, as I'm coming from a Wacom AES with 4096 levels. Furthermore the initial perassure required to register the pen on the display is too high for me.

    So I have two questions:
    1. What technology does asus use? As the pen requires a battery, I might be an Electro Static digitizer?!
    2. Can I use an other, fancier pen, to get 4096 levels and eventually a tilt support? Which pens are compatible with the asus? Can I use the microsoft surface pen and/or the Wacom Bamboo smart?

Thank you for your help in advance.

I think you can use Wacom Bamboo Ink pen. I am not sure if it will give you 4096 levels of pressure but the IAF didn't seem high at all in my BestBuy trials. Although even in my quick tests it was no match for Wacom EMR but I thought it was better than the N-Trig on Surface Pro.
