    Please Help!!

I purchased a replacement board for my M80TA 2 years ago from ZandParts.eu shipped to Trinidad and Tobago (Caribbean) for EUR51... (EUE16 was shipping)..+ EUR10 Tax/Custom Charges to collect the item once it reached here.

Now I want to place the same order (same Paypal account, same shipping address) but they are charging EUR40 shipping !!! so the charging board is going to cost me EUR80 !!!

Should I get the board or just scrap my tablet?

If it served you well, fix it.

So, a year and a half on, using a magnetic tearaway connector... my Vivotab suddenly decided that it was going to stop charging again. And when I say suddenly, I mean suddenly. There was no critical event. It just decided that it didn't like the magnetic tearaway connector anymore. The original usb cable that shipped with the device gets slightly better results, but the behavior is still not really usable.

It's peculiar, because my previous issue was clearly caused by the usb connector having been bent out of shape. This time, however, the usb still feels quite tight.

Regardless, I think this may be the end for our hero. I can't locate a replacement. Zandparts, referenced elsewhere on the forum, has one as "remote stock", and wants nearly $70 for it. It may be time just to buy a better device.

I had a problrm with a magnetic USB charging connector. I discovered that the cable had become defective through use. I have a few magnetic cables and the others worked.
You could also try cleaning the terminals on the connector.

I thank you for the advice. I tried cleaning the connections, but no joy.

The fact that a normal usb cable isn't really working either (if I shimmy it just right it sort of charges) implies that the issue isn't just the magnetic charger. I think something on the Note 8's USB daughter board is probably loose.

When I get the chance I'll pop the back off and see what can be seen. Last time around I was able to get a couple extra months out of the device by recrimping the female connector. That might be worth a shot here.

It's a shame as I'm really rather fond of the device, but constantly having to take it apart to fix things (usb board, screen cables) isn't really sustainable.
