I really like the device. The only two things I have to nitpick is the screen "roughness" with the pen and the buttons on the side which feel kind of cheap. For the screen issue, I'll probably buy a screen protector soon when they become widely available.

My screen is almost as smooth as my Surface Pro,
which is slick(at least to me)

To fight the finger prints, I have been wiping it with alcohol,
isop. alcohol that is. I do not know if this is why my sceen is
not rough, or was not that rough to begin with.
It does seem to be getting better with time.

The Wacom stylus is so night and day to the Dell Stylus, that
I have not used my Dell hardly since the Asus came in.
I like the style of the buttons on the Dell,
but I like the press and hold to turn the Asus on.
The Dell buttons are so sensitive, it came on a couple of times in
    the bag and ran down.

So I just loaded up a game of Arkham Origins streamed from my gaming PC to the Vivotab Note 8. According to Steam's stats, the video framerate was between 50-60fps the whole time (running at 1280x720 because there's no reason for a 1080p encode to a 1280x800 display). Latency was 55-60ms (4ms input, 20ms game, 35ms display). Ping time was 4ms. Incoming bitrate to the Note was variable, but went from about 6000kbit/s to about 14000kbit/s. Outgoing bitrate maxed out at around 150 kbit/s. And since I was in the same room as the router (and the gaming PC is wired anyway), there was 0% packet loss and 0% frame loss.

On a subjective note, since Arkham Origins using timing and rhythm for combat, I definitely could feel that I was at a slight disadvantage playing it through streaming. I could adjust to it if necessary, but you can tell in a game like this that there is a delay. I'm sure in other games, 60ms would be far less noticeable.

hello, I was wondering if someone else also has their AVTN8 screen slightly flicker at times?
Just very subtle, best noticeable On a dark background. looks a little as if it's changing modes or something....

This device is amazing. Got the 64gb one last week and really like the form factor. Haven't experience the screen roughness issue reported. Maybe ours in Australia is manufactured in a different factory. The power button definitely is a bit hard to press. Been using it in meetings for OneNote have been absolutely perfect! Just wish they put LTE in it. And I so badly need to find a case for it.
