asus vivotab note 8- anyone figured out how to charge and simultaneously use an otg hub

I retested mine and it was doing the same thing. I know for a fact that when I first tested it that both worked as it was charging and I could access the data from my flash drive.

 

Until now, the AVN8 does not charge and use the usb port for a device. It can only not discharge and the usb port with some y cables. But it is not so bad.
If you find a cable that charge and use usb port, tell us.

 

unfortunately with this cable, you can only either charge or use usb
[edit to clarify] ie there is no ability to use usb and maintain current charging level, as soon as a live charge is applied to the micro port, fullsize usb port is disabled

 

Any hardware hacks tried to get this working?

• Bypass micro USB port and charge battery directly leaving micro USB port free for USB devices?
• Solder one or two full USB extension cables somewhere on the motherboard for use with USB devices leaving the micro USB port for charging?
• Any other hardware hacks like 'permanent' internal 256 USB storage?
