After TH2 I think it works fine but I'm not a heavy user.

Yes, I'm happy to see you and that is a Sony Xperia in my pocket

How bad is it? Also, I am trying to remove my 10gb recovery partition, but I can't do it. If I upgrade to Win 10, won't this go away anyway?

Threshold 2, previously known as SP2 or service pack 2.

I'm a user pure and simple, my note 8 came to me running first public release of windows 10 ... suffered maybe 3 crashes in a month during palm rejection ... newest windows 10 update (I'm not insider) went on clean (pop sd card first ?), needed to manually install asus driver pack followed by Wacom driver, been solid ever since

If you made it from the x64 iso, there is absolutely no chance that it'll work with the AVN8.
Reason: no uefi boot support for x64 (even if the cpu is x64 capable).
The only way to circumvent this is a grub-hack and chaining loaders, but I doubt it's feasible.

    Regards

Yesterday I updated to TH2 with media creation tool, starting from the bare w8.1 original install, with basically only Windows 8.1 Update on board.
I let it download all the post-TH2 updates, and go through the couple of related reboots.
At the end, I noticed the rotation problem. I then uninstalled ATK and rebooted. The rotation issue was gone.
I calibrated the pen input through the W10 applet, loaded Onenote 2016 desktop. So far, no BSOD or any other issue.
It was as simple as that.

For the moment, battery usage seems on par with W8.1

As a follow up for the heavy inkers, I found TH2 to be a leap forward compared to TH1, The problem is palm rejection on Windows 10 has still a way to go, and it still feels a lot like beta. Basically in my experience it is still almost unusable because it often takes my palm as if I were tapping on the bottom right corner or in close vicinity. So I had to move the task bar on the top side of the sceen.
Let's hope they can fix it like they did for BSOD or, at least, bring it to the same level of w8.1.
Also, the writing pad is quite more frustrating to use than W8.1's
