Mine's now been RMA'd. DHL are picking it up today so hopefully they'll turn it around quickly.

After 4 windows reinstall, updates, driver etc etc I came to the conclusion that it's actually broken. The problem was that I bought it from an eBay seller so am relying on the warranty condition that states the manufacture date will be the assumed warranty start date if I have no proof of purchase.

Hopefully it'll all come back fixed or replaced next week.

Exactly 1 week later and my Vivotab is on a DHL van making its way back to me. Hopefully fully repaired. Impressive turnaround from Asus and really fast work from DHL.

Exactly the same for me. Let us know how it goes. They replaced the NFC chip in mine which includes the accelerometer. Was interfering with the sound for some reason when it was broken.

It's back and it's working :D My paperwork shows the NFC chip was replaced as well, so I guess we have a common fault here.

Just in time for me to take on my photography trip next week and leave my laptop at home. It'll be great to have a tablet in my camera bag which runs Lightroom :D

    Breed, David,

I never had problems with my NFC because it's not very useful to me and I disabled it on day one. However out of curiosity, what series are your VivoTabs?

(That is, what are the first five letters of the serial number?)

My serial number starts CCOKA. I also dont use NFC, but the faulty chip was preventing the audio or screen orientation working as well as caused BSOD. It's all working fine now, so I'm finally happy with it.

Hmm. If I recall from about the time I bought mine (D2OKA), I was reading on this very forum and it seemed that the CCOKA were quite bug ridden and problematic. I suppose we can blame it on that as well.

    Thanks!

Mines a CBOKA. One of the very first available in the UK.

Why? asus has their own drivers, that with a reset and reinstall of OS, put the tab into a great working order.
