Hi I wonder if anyone can help..I decided to upgrade from 501 to 704 bios using winflash (win7) it accepted the file EP121F1.704 (4,096kb) and off it went until it completed and left a message -cant remember exact words - but suggested incomplete loading - Should have used (EP121AS.704 - 2,048kb) Anyhow now cannot Flash any other version cos winflash reuses to accept an older file any suggestions - I dont dare turn off the compter and risk a dead machine..

Run Winflash with the command promt: "WinFlash.exe /nodate" and try again

F1 will have error message...another member flashed F1 version and he/she indicated EP121 works after reboot.. He had not reported back since. guess it was ok..

    or you can reflash.

read the bios threads in this forum as there are lots of info.

I just recommend always to flash the files via BIOS itself. This utility just recognizes the AS file and I had never problems flashing with it. A few days ago I successfully flashed version 704 via BIOS flash utility.

Thanks Guys your advice works!! "Run Winflash with the command promt: "WinFlash.exe /nodate" and try again" it took a while to figure it out but second time was successful! for anyone else with similar issues heres what i did: Make a winflash shortcut on destop, right click and select properties find the line "C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\WinFlash\WinFlash.exe" and change it to "C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\WinFlash\WinFlash.exe" /nodate - save and run winflash from shortcut

    Im running 704 now!

Based on all your feedback here and there, winflash way is safer than BIOS way.

Maybe you are right ... with winflash you have the possibility to flash a BIOS file again, if there are some troubles. A failed BIOS flash in BIOS itself gets you in trouble. I just flashed modded BIOS 704 with winflash /nodate, everything works fine!

couple members bricked in win 8 even with winflash..

revert to win 7 and flash with winflash seems to be less risks.
