    hey all,

I want from you to see what my freind in Taiwan told me when I ask him to buy asus R1f for me (discuss with Asus senior engineer by personal way (not official way), then, the engineer told me that Asus found the heating with short life of battery problem with it, so that is why we have to wait so long time cannot find any of R1 in our market--Asus has to wait all stock is finished ,then at the same time, they are redesigning a new model to solve this two problem))

and he if you try any R1 which have made from 1 june you will found no battery wear

and about asus r1e it will be in the market at the first of oct but not in all country and not the same spec

    thanks

My R1F was build well before the first of June and it definitively has battery problems. If they now know what the problems is will they be able to fix it in existing models and if so are they willing to do this? Currently I have send mine on RMA I have also bought the modular bay battery get some more use out of this €1700 tablet. I'm not feeling warm and fuzzy about ASUS at the moment.

So we can expect R1E to not have the heating and battery problems?

Well according to one of my friends who imports laptops from the US - he can preorder the R1E (with 2Ghz processor) and it will cost roughly $AU2500 (note that this price includes shipping from the US and Australian taxes). The price roughly matches up with a 2Ghz R1F. Should be released in about a week.

As a disclaimer - I'm quite sceptical when it comes to this friend. Could be quite true, or he could be exagerating wildly
