    8.jpg 1.jpg Hi Everybody !:hi2:

Got EEE Note from Taipei few days ago with 4GB internal m SD card and
    firmware (rom) v. 1.0.14.118.

I got a m SD-HC 32GB class 10 card and could not resist not to open EEE Note
    and following these instructions:

    http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/asus-eee-line/40789-how-fix-you-eee-note-if-stuck-bootloader.html

    it worked like a charm.

In fact in the second trial ::rolleyes:

    First time around I installed

    - the russian rom v 1.0.16.139
    - all of the Freeorg stuff
    - QtPacker (I wanted to try MuViewer - pdf viewer)

    everything looked perfect, but
I believe QtPacker messed up (after reboot the machine asked for a password ?? !!)

    Second time around I installed

    - the russian rom v 1.0.16.139
    - all of the Freeorg stuff

    so far everything runs fine.:)

I THANK ALL THE PEOPLE HERE WHO wrote the clear instructions,
without those - I could never do it !

Never heard of QtPacker messing things up. And muViewer is worth it :) Still, after a year and a half of painful use of this device, I'm now looking to replace it by a Galaxy Note 10.1, when it'll reach a reasonable price.

    Thanks Micha

I installed QtPacker , muViewer 0.2.0 (there is also 0.1.5 - what is the difference, bytheway?) and some other apps.
Everything works, muViewer can handle big pdf s.
    However, I noticed this :

On the HOME Menu the Notes app : the text and nr of notes message is gone .- only icon remains.
When I tap on the icon to load Notes loading never ends - I have to reset the machine !
If I deinstall all apps installed through QtPacker just leave QtPacker the problem dissapears ?

Any ideas how to get rid of this annoying problem ?

    Thank you .

muViewer: v0.1.5 was left for the benefit of one user who needed a particular feature in it at the time. Current users should install v0.2.0.

QtPacker: It works well and is stable. It is the best installer for the Eee Note. The problems you are seeing are not related to QtPacker, they are just a side effect of the number of apps you've installed (see next comment).

Home menu: There is a limitation in the menu app to the number of installed apps it can support. I forget the limit, but it's about 24 or 26. If you install more apps the memory becomes corrupt. The work around, as you discovered, is to limit the number of apps. It's likely that the problem could be resolved by installing apps to the user area, instead of the system area, but nobody has provided this fix as yet.

    First of all:
Why would you need 32gb of internal memory on this device anyway? There are absolutely no benefits whatsoever. Notes don't take up that much space, transferring books and mp3 to internal memory takes for ages and there's no increment in read/write speed, so why bother? The only reason I see for installing 32gb internal mmc would be using it later to hold non asus made OS, which is not very likely to happen anytime soon.

Your problem is related to asus software limits, where is no way to fix it. There was a guy here on the forums who wanted to write a replacement app/launcher, but the project is dead now.

    Hi RAMSES II

If you install an app with a particular installer then it would be best to uninstall it with the same installer, before trying to reinstall it with another installer. I don't know how much mess it would make otherwise.

QtPacker can only manage the apps it has installed itself.

My recollection is that when you run Fullinstall you get an option to uninstall apps that are already installed.
