You would like to think they all have 64MB, but the Asian tx2500 has a WEI score of 4.0, just like the Computex model in the first look review. evensong's WEI score is only 3.7, suggesting something's up, and this might be it.

kwhy can you use GPU-Z (http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/) and see how many memory your HD3200 have? If it does have side port it should be 320MB total (256MB + 64MB)

Judge for yourself. It does say I have 320MB memory, but I have no indications of having sideport memory. I'll look into it with Sandra.

It sounds like you have it then, I doubt the computer would take 320mb, thats kind of a random number, makes more sense for it to take 256, with 64 of sideport

from this it looks like all of them have it. I have seen HP include 64mb with nvidia 7150 chip also in the past. online store never mentioned it, but all laptops had it.

then could drivers be giving the variations for everyone on this board? or is this because of 32bit vista vs 64.

Thanks to everyone for all the testing.

I notice that ntsan's WD hdd seems to be much faster than evensong's Toshiba drive. The average difference in transfer rates is 7.9 MB/sec (45.6 - 37.7). In hours, that's over 28000 MB/hr or 27 GB/hr or 6 dvds/hour. Perhaps, you guys want to retest [with the same version of HD Tune]. I'm not too familiar with hdd technology and perhaps averages are variable. The WEI hdd numbers don't differ too much.

Could be drivers. Could be performance setting on max while plugged in. Could be something (some box) that needs to be checked in the ATI driver.

Not OS difference since the Asain adn the circuit city are 32bit. Evensong being the 64bit.
