    I know, eh?!

I look at the difference between my 14" Tecra and the new 15.6" tablets, and for crying out loud, I *lose* a full inch of canvas across the bottom with the "larger" screen!

Yes, I do gain about 2.5" on the side, and that's a good spot to put Photoshop menus pallets and such, and I do gain another 30 pixels, so technically. . .

But still, I find 4:3 a bit tight on the top and bottom already.

    A few more numbers:

    A new 16:19, 15.6" Sony Flip/Acer R7
    101 square inches (approx) and at 1920x1080 = 2,073,600 pixels. 144 dpi
13.5" x 7.5" Wider than a piece of paper, but thinner.

    My ten year-old 3:4 Tecra M4 14" tablet
    95 square inches, and 1400x1050 = 1,470,000 pixels. 125 dpi
    11.2" x 8.45" A piece of paper.

    A 3:4, 21" Cintiq
    206 square inches, at 1600 x 1200 = 1,920,000 pixels. 96 dpi
16.5" x 12.5" Two pieces of paper side by side, (approx).

ArtRage is about ready to release an upgrade to ArtRage 3.5 and ArtRage 4 that should fix the pressure sensitivity issues with the N-Trig on the Duo 13. As of Oct,10, they were about ready to make the release until a problem popped up on WinXP. Once they resolve that, they should be ready to release the upgrades.

In your opinion, is CSP viable for "fine" art or is it exclusively for Manga type illustration? It claims to offer a variety of brush/pencil tools for oil and watercolor painting, but is the choice extensive enough for serious digital painting? What do you think?

P.S. I have the Duo 13 in my online shopping cart and ready to go once I feel comfortable with the software/pen painting options.

Manga Studio 5 is a FULL suite similar in scale and scope to Corel Painter meets Photoshop. It's powerful, versatile and certainly robust enough for fine arts purposes. In many ways, it is far better equipped than photoshop for fine art, as it actually blends colors, not just layers opacity. I have yet to try Smith Micro's newest tablet friendly release, but it should be the same as clip studio paints newest, just translated to English.

ged: Thanks for the heads up. I checked the Ambient site a few days ago, looking for an update and was a little surprised that it wasn't available yet...

This is a little of topic, but what is the difference between Manga Studio and clip studio paint? I'm going to purchase one to use on my duo, but I didn't found any relevant information on their website. Thanks.

AFAIK, It's simply the official english release of the same software. There shouldn't be any differences.
