So a few observations about this review. First of all the headline is totally baiting "races to the bottom " Really? Yes it's the cheapest iPad but it's still a high quality device especially when you compare it to something like the Onn Walmart Tablet or the Fire HD10.

A MUCH MORE valid and interesting comparison which he doesn't even mention would be with the new Samsung Tab a 2019 10.1 which is a far more likely real world consumer choice.

Second, he talks about the 10.2 being heavier than the Air and it is literally. But the difference is virtually undetectable to a person. However what is noticeable between the two is the weight distribution. Everyone we have that's handled both devices has noted that the new 10.2 is top heavy compared to the air. eg. the air is simply better balanced when held in portrait mode. And the same was true of the sixth gen.

Third, the display, again no comparison with something like the Tab A (which looks to be a bit brighter but also more reflective than the iPad) and of course be beats on the no lamination drum. However Apple does seem to have improved the Anti-reflective coatings between the 6th and 7th generations. most notably with light coming from close angles such as an overhead light source. It's only a small difference, but you can see it side by side.

Ok , enough ranting, but I wonder what the guidelines are given to these folks with these reviews. And ok, one more rant; of course they trot out the benchmarks which show virtually no change in preformance while failing to come up with a meaningful determination on what benefits the increased RAM provides. (for us it looks like responsiveness is improved if you switch apps frequently)

They do tend to A-B test their headlines. You can see in the link that they had a more moderate version as well: "The 2019 ipad has a new skin but it's mostly the same tablet". Guess which title got the most clicks.. :) As for review quality, they obviously need you on their team. On your application you can write: "The only prolific TPCR member with a likability rating (likes/posts) larger than one". It's true!
