I'm upgrading my SP3 with a new keyboard and new pen, hell I might even get the new dock. But performance wise I don't see the need to spend dollars in the thousands.

Yes I'm going to upgrade some time until Christmas.
But have big dilemma witch one.
    The i5 or m3 fanless :p
If the performance is 15-20% higher than Broadwell Core M like on MacBook 12 and having 1 hour more battery life I will prefer m3 version.

Wow - this is an extremely small sample, of a rather self-contained tribe, but I am shocked at the number of "sitting this one out" votes. Surely we are not THAT immune to shiny new toys, are we?

Yea, I was thinking the same thing. I thought the technolust ran stronger than this ... on the otherhand it isn't that suprising considering the SP3 is still a pretty good device for it's intended audience. The SB seems to be getting more attention, but it is tailored to a different use case, and I wouldn't be surprised if many of buyers will be first time Surface buyers who were not interested in the Surface Pro form factor.

Sorry but I always upgrade to new versions. I only sit out on phone upgrade every year.

I have to have the new stuff. Yes I am a dork but it's what I like to do.

It's like when you see this hot guy on the beach, all abs and gorgeous hair. Sure the lust is there, but are you ready to deal with the fallout?

I know this sounds dumb (that's my function around here) but the Surface Pro line is reaching the MacBook Air problem - it is nearly iconic, later models rarely do more than the original, and so if that is your style, you stick with what you have until there is a new paradigm - next time around, that may be SB 2 for me, but my trusty SPro 3 is like a really comfortable pair of shoes, and the new keyboard/dock/pen will re-sole them...

UPDATE - there's also something refreshing in knowing that the average customer at Starbucks won't know you are not using the latest gear...who am I kidding - they didn't even look at it because there was no fruit engraved on it...:(

Why did that analogy never occur to me...

I hope that I can hold out until then, but I must admit that it's getting harder.

I have had SP1 for so long. As you already mentioned, it is an easy sell. Either SP4 or SB1 will be fine with me. I am a litter lean on SB1 except for it's 110 degree opening angle.

Well, on the Brightside, you should be used to it with an SP1 (90+22=112).
