    A) Setup

    Windows Vista 32bit SP1
    Authentec Fingerprint AES2550 Version: 8.1.0.51
    Fingerprint Software: SmartCase Logon+ 2.2

    B) Problem

Recording fingerprints with SmartCase isn't a problem - this works fine. But: Authenticating the fingerprint fails with the message "Biometric function failed". The fingerprint reader scrolling function which is realized by the Authentec software works perfectly.

To sum up: The fingerprint reader hardware works fine. The fingerprint software fails since the first day I'm using my T5010. I spent hours and hours trying to fix this. No success, everytime this "Biometric function failed" message occurs.

I'm about to give up on this one. There seems to be no fingerprint software which works. Also a fingerprint isn't the ultimate safety solution (great thread in this forum).

    C) What's your experience?

Is there anybody out there who has SmartCase Logon working without problems?

    Thanks for any feedback :)

That's great. I am using the ASUS Fingerprint software. What is the difference between SmartCase and ASUS? Since it is German in SmartCase, I do not know about it. Thanks. :)

Also, is there English version available in SmartCase?
