Hi to all the owners of Fujitsu T2010,

I am trying to invest on a Tablet PC and I have my final decision to make. I was wondering if you guys can help me choose. I am trying to buy one between X60 SXGA+ and T2010. Now as I have seen in other forums, Lenovo has problems with the hinge and the benzel screen issue right out the box. To all the current T2010 owners, first, how satisfied are you with your T2010? Do you have any problems using the tablet? If so, please describe what it is that you are having problems with.
Second, are there any fan issues? When the fan is going off, is it loud? or it dosen't bother you.
Lastly, the main issue, the location of the battery. As I have seen in pictures and reviews, the battery of T2010 is located on your palm rest. Does this cause any discomfort? Does it get warm/hot at all?

The review unit I tested was very nice. The screen on the T2010 is flawless. One of the best tablet screens I have seen. I didn't like the keyboard though, it had a lot of flex and was real soft feeling.

As for the battery location, it was no problem. The area never got hot and it provided a nice palm rest. The battery life on the 9-cell battery was great too. You could use this portable tablet all day without charging.

I think the keyboard is good, certainly not the best but it's full size and the travel is just right. The flex didn't bother me as much personally so I think it will vary from person to person.
The one problem I had with the keyboard was that it picks up dirt from your fingers and the stuff probably won't come unless I wash it with soap. What I did earlier was took an hour worth of time, some clear scotch tape and scissors and covered each letter. The end result is that the tape is clear and doesn't look it's there most of the time, it's unobtrusive unlike the keyboard skin and it will still protect the keys.

The fan is annoying sometimes when I plug it in. If I put it on powersaver it is less of a problem but even then when it starts working the fan can get pretty loud. It never feels hot even when plugged which is justifiable but I prefer sacrificing a little coolness for a quieter machine. The noise is not such a problem on battery.

I've used the SXGA+ on the X60t and the screen is pretty dim compared to the T2010. The X60t on max brightness amounts to about 30-40% of the T2010's maximum. The resolution on the WXGA for me is very satisfying.

Hi Tiffany, I have read your review multiple times and I appreciate your input. Although I am still confused which tablet I should purchase between X60 and T2010. From pictures, X60 looks more like a square than a regular screen of a laptop whereas the T2010 looks more like a wide screen with a nice design. Which tablet would you prefer? (Excluding the keyboard)

Thanks for your input. One question: Is T2010 Active Digitizer pressure sensitive? Any problems when writing notes?

Yes, it is utilizing a Wacom active digitizer, thus it is pressure sensitive. However, it is recommended that you install the Wacom Enhanced Tablet Driver, here, as some applications may not recognize pressure sensitivity until after the Enhanced driver is installed.

The fan has to be the most annoying aspect of the laptop and its only minor. It goes on when you surf Java or AJAX heavy webpages or are loading a ton of applications up. Otherwise it runs relatively silent. The all-day battery life of the 9 cell is freakin awesome, its great to charge your laptop about as much as your cell phone.

I just noticed the bluetooth range on theT2010 is quite low, even less than on my PDA! I only get about 10 feet on the T2010 but I can probably get double that on my Axim. I'm pairing it with my new Sony DR-BT50's which sound awesome btw. I hope it's just a driver issue which I'll have to examine.

I've had one (a T2010) for a few days, and my main issue so far (after getting 2 GB RAM for Vista) is the pointing stick. Like eStarkey's review mentioned, it does tend to wander. However, letting go of it for a second or two lets it get back on track.

I like the 4:3 aspect ratio of my SXGA+ x61t which I think is much better than 16:10 widescreen. Screen is also bright, don't need more because it is anti reflective. Very nice in tablet mode. Bezel & hinge is very well built.

Okay, I've decided to purchase the T2010. I'm going to go buy it from the Notebook shop for $1400. Now if I get the Vista O.S. and if I am not satisfied (due to many bugs that I've been hearing), can I down grade it to XP Tablet PC 2005 O.S.?
