As a personal ethic, I only buy free range turkey promoted tablets, so I consider this a plus in their favor.

Maybe it is real...Dan Ackerman has a review at CNet today (5/12/18)...BUT...he added a caveat...

"Editors' note: This hands-on preview is based on a non-final hardware build provided by Acer early in the production process. We'll update with new benchmarks and a rating when the final hardware is released."

And further down the page..."Our demo unit lacks a fingerprint reader, and may undergo other cosmetic or configuration changes before its final release." WTF?

Early in the production process - wait, wasn't - IFA on August 30, 2017

Why oh why does a Wacom stylus in a silo draw me like a moth to a flame???

There is a solution : take a GB 12 and galaxy note 8, and you will have the best tablet, the best phone, and a down in the silo.

I find it odd that they are posting an early hands on now, when it would seem they have had that pre-production build for quite some time already... were they given the go ahead by Acer to finally post it, or did they just get a review unit now? Either way seems hopeful I guess..

I would like to think they are doubling down on the quality and really working hard to get it right this time and release a near flawless product.
But its more likely that they are just scrambling thanks to a near fatal flaw with the unit with its production run having been ground to a halt by a major engineering oversight.

Nice, Acer put in a quality IPS panel on this thing!

Contrast ratio over a thousand, on par with the SP5's [1180:1], and only bested by the SB2's amazing [1460:1]:

72% Adobe RGB gamut @ <2.0 dE, again on par with the competition:

Other specs, 366 nits and a perfect 2.2 gamma. Not bad, Acer...

I might now be swayed (just a little) from the GB12's OLED screen if this can be found at a good price...3:2, 13.5", MX150, 3hr battery (load)...it's essentially an SB1 clipboard with EMR and GPU-lite! ;)

(And I loved drawing on the SB1 clipboard!)

Well, it's also a pound heavier than the SB1 clipboard by itself, 2.6 lb vs 1.6 lb if I got the numbers correct. That's a pretty hefty tablet!

Bah! 1 pound, 2 pound...when did we become such anorexics?

Give me a nice hefty tablet, with meaty specs inside! :D

Hm, sounds like they moved the fingerprint reader down from upper right to lower right.

So this is probably not vaporware yet. At this point, though, the only way I'd consider it over the Zbook x2 is if I find a new one for $1000 or under. Its aspect ratio is the only thing I want over the Zbook.

Honestly, being cruelly exposed to a 15" Surface Book 2 on a daily basis (my boss has one), anything less than 15" 3:2 is a bit of a disappointment now. My boss's brother has a 13" Surface Book 2 and it look so small, even if it's probably the same size-ish as my T901.

Why has no one else made a 15" 3:2 tablet pc is my main complaint these days.
