So... the native Win10 drivers suck. It looks like Elan has sold this ELAN_5515 stuff to HP and Toshiba and Lenovo as well. Anyone find newer drivers to perhaps resolve the pen writing quality issue?

I found that the Surface 3 or 4 Pro Pen driver (SurfacePenSettingsDriver; Version: 12.0.303.1; Date: 23.05.2016) works with Acer Active Stylus... And, I guess it works better...
Also I installed Wintab driver (Wintab_x64_1.0.0.20).

Hi, I don't mean to potentially bump an old thread but how did you manage to install the surface drivers on your Acer? Having trouble figuring that out.

I tried using device manager, however I don't know which device to actually replace the drivers with... could you perhaps walk me through how you managed to install it manually?

    1. Open Device Manager.
    2. Find the device that your are trying to install a driver (Human Interface Devices > HID-compliant pen).
    3. Right click the device and select properties.
    4. Select Driver tab, then click the Update Driver button.
    5. Choose Browse my computer for driver software.
    6. Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
    7. Install from disk.
    8. Browse for the .inf driver file.
    9. Open and Next.
    10. The driver will be installed.

Hey, came upon this thread today. Have a new Acer SP515-51N that came with the Acer Active Stylus. Problem was that the stylus registered basic touches but was not pressure sensitive. I followed the Surface driver installation instructions above and now all is great. bvazx, you are a genius!!!
