Having had my legs slapped by @stoneseeker, here's the CORRECT place for this review...

Spoiler - the Ezel 3 Pro has an awful pen. The lines Brad gets are just horrible.

    lol, THATS BETTER doobs :p

Are ALL the AES implementations this jittery?? His seemed particularly bad.
One thing that always makes me a little annoyed whenever I watch Brad's otherwise really thoughtful reviews is he never seems to use a pen with clear pressure curve. I get his art style doesn't prefer thin to thick line work, but for the sake of the review can we please see how it handles pressure curve in practice?

yikes, just watching his line quality when he draws in the video...Clip Studio's brush stabilization might help, but in the video the line quality looks really terrible. While I never owned an AES device, I have used plenty at Stores and Comic Con, but I've never seen AES this bad.

I wonder if Brad will be able to get his hands on the other two D7 & D9 models with the EMR pen to compare.

It could be a driver related problem, since these Concept D devices were made more for the high end market, they might have engineered the concept with EMR, and when they thought to offer the lower cost D3 and switched the pen tech, maybe they didn't even think to re-engineer the pen enough to make it work as well.

I think some Wacom AES implementations seem good. For example the below video of the Miix 520 from a couple years ago w/ Lenovo Active Pen 2 seemed to deliver fairly stable lines. I guess it depends on manufacturer. I was hoping that the Concept D's creator focus would make Acer tune this a little better, but I guess that didn't happen this time.

    Rejoice people.
Acer is updating the Conceptd 3 Ezel and this time it'll come in a number of flavours just to make customers even more confused: with 14 and 15.6 inches display 1080p or 4k and... Wacom aes or emr pen!
Also up to 11th gen i7 and up to RTX 3050ti.
Basically a Surface Laptop Studio with better screen and more ports. :D

Great news! Now can we just get an AMD version?

And that they are offering EMR as an option really shows how it shouldn't be that hard to integrate it into products. It seems Wacom are willing to sell it. Acer are hardly some behemoth forcing Wacom here.

Edit: Not seeing any mention of 14" versions in the press release, which is a shame. Only the clamshell is getting 16:10 and they are still a little pricey.

Well, the original ConceptD 3 Ezel was a 14" laptop, so I suppose they're taking it for granted they don't need to mention it.
This is from the short 30 seconds trailer from their Facebook page:

Although i suppose only tbe 15.6" will come in 4k.

I commented before realizing my article was the same content as the presser ha. -deleted-

The SKU associated with the 15.6 EMR version is linked to AES versions internationally. Hopefully this isn't another awkward rollout. It has potential to be a proper unicorn.

The 7 Ezel is on sale for $1999 (down from $2599) locally for me right now. It's got a RTX 2060, which bests the 3050ti for my intended 3D development use-cases. Soooo.. I dunno. May be worth picking up?

If anyone is considering this is laptop despite possible pen issues, it's down to $999 at bhphotovideo. That's so cheap it may be worth it to deal with some smoothing lag and lazy Nezumi pump.

Maybe worth noting, Brad reviewed the 14" model too. Some people on reddit are saying bios updates have the 15" running quite nice. Also, one guy said he finally talked to an Acer rep 1 on 1 and they confirmed it's AES 2.0 digitizer, but the garaged pen is AES 1.0. So there's another avenue for testing.

I might be feeling goofy enough to give it a try :p
