So i just got my X61 two days ago and the autorotate feature doesnt work, i looked all over for a setting and cant find anything. ive gone into the pen and tablet settings from the tablet shortcut menu and theres nothingto turn it on or off. Is there a driver or download i need to get this working?
To get to the settings for autorotate, open the Tablet Shortcut Menu and click on the "Settings" button in the bottom left corner.
Ok I will be a nitwit. Where is the "tablet shortcut menu." I guess its not the start menu? There is no "settings" button in vista. I am having the same autorotate issue and I have looked everywhere.
Assuming you have the default Lenovo install, you can access the Tablet Shortcut Menu by pressing the button below your screen that looks like a toolbox (the button between the "esc" and the manual rotate button). If the Tablet Shortcut Menu doesn't appear when you press this button you might need to install some software from the Lenovo web site.
Hey all, I just wanted to report that I was finally able to activate auto-rotate. It was one of the few things that wouldn't work. it's amazing the hoops you have to jump through sometimes. To get Bluetooth working I had to install Access, Connections, Driver Interface, and the Lenovo Hotkey patch. The Hotkey patch changed some things because suddenly Active Rotate works; the tablet shortcut menu is now different, sleeker, and Active Rotate works, and pretty well I might add. Hopefully this helps someone who finds that Active Rotate will not work. I wasn't really missing this feature especially in light of some of the comments here on its lack of accuracy, but now that I'm using it...it's really handy. cheers, DC
