So, here it is, a much needed benchmark table.

I'm going to need your help to complete this benchmark table!

Please post benchmarks of your system with the same graphic settings I used (posted below).

    - Don't forget to post what Catalyst drivers you're using -

Users with Core i3 should repeat these benchmarks to confirm performance!

I'll appreciate any suggestions, especially to what other games and applications should we benchmark!

My tests were performed using the latest Catalyst 10.7a - I have to recommend them because the package installs both AVIVO and HYDRAVISION. Get them here: Catalyst 10.7a

You can add 3150 points for 3DMark06 with the 'old' SU7300 TM2 using the classic catalyst from HP - is that 9.7?

    I can give data on an i5 w/ 8 gig RAM for L4D2 and 3dmark 06.

When you say "All High" on L4D2, does that mean all settings to max, or all on high? What of anti-aliasing, texture filtering, etc?

[EDIT]: L4D2 on all max settings gets ~10 fps at the top of the hotel, as reported by cl_showfps 1. Reducing texture filtering to trilinear, turning AA off, turning vsync off, reducing shader detail to High produces an fps of ~15, which chokes to about 10 in the burning lobby. I suspect one of our reporting methods is off, or I have something chewing up tons of CPU and GPU.

    Catalyst drivers are 10.7

[EDIT2]: Turns out I had Avast! still running in the background. I even remember reminding myself to turn it off before benchmarking. Disabling it still leaves me with about 17-20 fps in most fire-free gameplay areas in L4D2, though. And I only score about 41 on wprime. Hrrmmmm.

Sorry about the details, I meant to edit them sooner!

With the settings I posted, I get about 29 fps on the roof, with drops to 20 with heavy action.

Your wPrime score should be higher. Something is probably working on the background!

Okay, so, dumb question. Do I have to do anything special to get WPrime to run?

I've downloaded both v2.00 and 2.03 and both give an Error message when I try to launch them.

    Just says: "Unexpected error, quitting"

I have a new i5 CTO with Ati.

Yes, you have to right click on the file and run as administrator, otherwise it gives that message.

Hope to see your results soon!

Hmm... strange - the v2.00 version didn't give me that option and since I'm logged in as administrator I didn't think about it. But I see now that the 2.03 version does give me that option. Very odd.

2.03 appears to be running now. Thanks!

**EDIT: Score: 38.061 for 32M WPrime (Core i5 with Ati, 6GB Ram, 500GB 7200rpm hdd)

So, just by looking at what's posted for each processor, is it the lower the wprime score the better?
