As of today, Oct 25th, it's still $229. So I figured with Mesosphere's fix (brilliant, BTW) can't go wrong in getting one.

    So I got one. :D

One question; how's the touch sensitivity as compared to say an iPad?

I've never owned an ipad, but I haven't noticed any problems with touch sensitivity... unless that sensitivity suddenly becomes zero =)

When it works, it works great. I think you're going to like it.

Today, 10/28 the "expensive" ($339) AVN8 is no longer shown on Amazon (US). The $229 "newer" (??) model by ASUST (why the "T") is the only one featured. Confusion reigns.

I bought the 64GB... "new" one (the ASUST) model from Amazon for $229 on Saturday, 10/25. It arrived today, Tuesday, 10/28. I even selected free shipping.

Has a manufacture date of 2014/05.

Interestingly enough, the pen works on my Elitebook 2760P and vice versa. So that opens up a range of compatible pens. I already have about 3 or 4 pens that I use with the 2760P.

Anyway, when I get things sorted out, cable mods done, screen protector on, I'll post up some findings.

Let us know how it's working out for you, if you have a chance.
I plan to purchase one of the "ASUST" models, as well.

It's working out great. The latest Wacom feel driver is a cut above compared to drivers of yesteryear.

Over the weekend, I bought another of these units for a family member. The fact that I can open it and putz around inside should anything go wrong is a huge plus for me.

Any questions, feel free to ask. :)

Thanks for responding with your experiences.
I noticed that while the Amazon deal is currently unavailable, the Microsoft Store has the 32GB model for $179.00 for those that may be interested.

I wonder if it won't be part of some Black Friday deal. Or Cyber Monday perhaps. It is so obviously headed for a $149 offer. Perfect as a Xmas gift purchase.
