Default Scrollarea in Firefox

Hi,
I have a HP TC4200 with a touchpad that has a scrollarea. It works well with most programms, but unfortunately not with the programm I use most: Mozilla Firefox. Trying to scroll changes my mouse pointer, but doesn't scroll. Does anyone experience the same problems?

The software that configures is synaptics dual pointing device driver. I put all settings back to default. It works with IE and most other programms, but firefox still doesnt scroll.

armdran, this is a common issue with Firefox and affects several Synaptics pad models. Some users have had luck uninstalling the current touchpad drivers and using older versions.

The good news is that the Mozilla developers are working to fix this issue. I would guess that it will be ironed out in upcoming versions of Firefox.

Thanks for your reply, now I can stop searching. I bought a new wireless notebook-mouse anyway.

Good move. I am using Firefox on an Acer 314 and have had to accept the issue as well. Hopefully they fix this scroll issue soon.

I believe that I read somewhere that there is a new Beta version of firefox. Some people have found a few bugs but it is supposed to be pretty stable (someone mentioned there was an issue w/ ebay, another user said they didn't have any problem.)

May be worth trying, and if it isn't worth trying, atleast that means a new version should be out soon that perhaps covers this problem.

http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/

its under the green box with "Free Download" written in it. "try firefox 1.5 Beta 2"

I haven't tried it myself. If someone gives it a wirl, let us know how it goes.
