Re: Bluebeam PDF Revu
Yea, we are able to print out cad files at school from regular printers. I was just curious really.Tthe cad version of BB looks like a handy tool, but if it won't make a difference on my personal computer then I'm not going to invest an additional 50 bucks for Revu Cad.
Thanks Frank. U da man!

Re: Bluebeam PDF Revu
thank's for the hint, leaftye.
On the one hand it's a bit sad to see that a new full version gets released already, for which you have to pay again, instead of just a new minor release with the bugs fixed and a few further improvements. Version 7 isn't even a year old!? Other companies, like Adobe or MS release a new major version about every 2 years, and then often they integrated a new UI, or other huge improvements.
I checked out the podcast and have mixed feelings. They say that one major 'theme' in the new release will be accessing and managing PDF files the other customization of PDF Revu.
I don't expect that the former will have much use for me, whereas the customization seems interesting. It would be cool if they allow the user to customize the toolbars, adding the menu bar as popup, maximizing workspace by using a Google Chrome or Opera 10.5 window UI and other things, like easier modification and better integration of the start page, allowing to open multiple PDF windows for multiple screen setups. Maybe they also added a full screen mode which should fall in the customization 'theme', too?
They haven't mentioned other interesting things, so I'm unsure if an upgrade from 7 to version 8 is worth the $75.
If they also mentioned things like: 'We've integrated our new rendering engine which is twice as fast and also handles huge markup lists easily now', then I would have bought it immediately
So, I really have mixed feeling about this new release. I'm happy to see some progress, but if it justifies a new major release, we'll see how well they've integrated the customization features and how many bugs they've fixed.Last edited by Frank; 01-07-2010 at 05:12 AM.

Re: Bluebeam PDF Revu
Hey guys, I'm using version 6.5.4. I was wondering if there was a way to print multiple pages per page. My professor uploads ppt slides as .pdf's and sometimes I need to print them, but I don't want to print them as one giant slide per page. I would like for it to print so that there are 4 or 6 slides per page. Do you know of a way to do this with Bluebeam? I tried looking through all the print options, but couldn't find it. Thanks for your help!

Re: Bluebeam PDF Revu
I use version 7.2, there's a setting in the print dialog:

However, if you plan to duplex print 4 pages on one sheet of paper (2 pages on each site) and later plan to cut this sheet of paper in half to create a book then you can't use this option because the PDF pages must get arranged new for this reason before you print. If your printer driver (yes the printer settings, not the print settings in PDF Revu) doesn't support a book, brochure or booklet print, which would do this rearranging, then you could try to print it with the Adobe reader and activate the booklet print setting which rearranges the pages, too.

Re: Bluebeam PDF Revu
Is that a new feature in version 7? I don't seem to have those options:

Re: Bluebeam PDF Revu
yes, seems so, as if it's a new feature of Version 7. So maybe your printer supports multiple page print outs or you have to use an alternative program to print it, like Adobe Reader.

Re: Bluebeam PDF Revu
How does one make a custom tool that can be just an icon on a standard toolbar without having the messy "My Toolbox" sidebar popping up?

Re: Bluebeam PDF Revu
it's not possible.
But you can assign a shortcut to your tools, if you use the MyTools toolchest and use a shortcut tool like Modlock to switch between pens without the need to display the sidebar.
And maybe they have included an option to add tools to the toolbar in version 8 which should be released soon.

Re: Bluebeam PDF Revu
small hint to an problem I had with PDF Revu since day 1:
Increased CPU usage and faster battery drain
Whenever I move my pen over the PDF document the CPU usage increases without any reason.
Solution
I just discovered the reason, it's the status bar. On the lower right you can see your mouse coordinates, which get updated as soon as you move your pen over the document. This refreshing results in a high CPU usage. So now I keep the status bar hidden always, and just show it for a short moment if I have to change some of those toggle switches like snap, grid, ...
And now, my battery life is fantastic again
PS: Keep on checking their blog: http://www.pdfinsider.com/
Version 8 is just a few days away according to the last post.
