Default fujitsu lifebook t4215 = power supply

i have a fujitsu lifebook t4215, sometimes when i put the lead for the power supply into the dc in jack i can see electrical sparks come out of it. Can this be replaced? If so what part would i need and where can i get it from?

Sparks from what part...

This is amost certainly a problem, though sometimes it could just be the connectors need cleaning.... i know my G3 clamshell ibook's supply sparks every time you plug the cloverleaf into the adapter, but this was a design fault thus why the white squareish supplies came in

Besides... bit of a tangent there

Is it sparking:

In the connection to the laptop (the round or square connector that actually goes into the tablet)

The connection to the block (the 2 pin figure of 8, 3 pin kettle lead or 3 pin cloverleaf)

the connection to the mains the plug at the wall...

Thanks

Joe

It is the round connection inside the laptop, it makes a noise when i put the plug into the laptop and you can smell fumes coming from it which lingers from a few seconds to minutes.

I'd contact fujitsu about that...... sounds like a short..... or even worse a dying powerboard...

They may even offer you a free replacement since that could be dangerous and theyll be scared of getting sued..

Oh that happened to me. I had to get the DC-In/power jack repaired.

If your one is the A1A version of well.. I had the T4220, then all it involves is replacing that part which would have cost me $120aud since i was out of warranty, but since i cracked the case in that corner too it was $289.
Apparently its a common problem of Fujitsu laptops.
And ^ yea right as if. Fujitsu doesn't admit to its builds being crap in this area.

If its another version then that might affect the motherboard
