Well I tried a replacement and unfortunately it had the same backlight bleed issue in the same place. I guess I will return and wait a week or so...
My nSP i5 256Gb 8Gb has noticeable light bleed across the bottom of the screen where the taskbar is. It is only noticeable in portrait mode...

Any screen lift issues? What serial did you get KBC?
I would exchange it for another one while you have the chance. If the screen is loose it will likely get worse as time goes on.
I'd take a look at ebay for an HP 2730P it would fit your needs nicely.
