Windows 8 CP keyboard in desktop mode
Hello all, I am having a bit of an issue when using my S7 slate in desktop mode. My problem is when I am using the onscreen keyboard in say firefox or google chrome. I summon the onscreen keyboard, and input my text, then the keyboard will not close. I have tried hitting the "x" and touching or clicking in various places, but the keyboard remains. I find that if I left swipe to bring up my left side charms menu, the keyboard docks, but then it returns just as soon as i click or press anything in the browser.
If anything this is extremely annoying, and the only thing that fixes this at the moment for me is a restart.
Anyone else having this issue, or perhaps have a fix or suggestion?
Thanks!

Re: Windows 8 CP keyboard in desktop mode
Kinda weird, This does not happen to me at all, I touch X and it closes, I hope that you won't be needing a Windows 8 Refresh!

Re: Windows 8 CP keyboard in desktop mode
Thanks for the reply. After paying more attention it seems that the issue is being prompted in Google Chrome. When typing in chrome, the keyboard likes to stick, and what I do is swipe the charms on the right and the keyboard goes away until i click on a page again. Sadly, when the keyboard is "stuck" the "X" is completely unresponsive.
I really wish that W8 CP could update like and android or iOS with periodical bug fixes that were for the core OS itself. I notice the only updates are app related bug and stability fixes, and security patches, etc.

Re: Windows 8 CP keyboard in desktop mode
The next update will be the Release Preview, which rumor is sometime in June...unlike Android or iOS this is a full OS and not a mobile OS. When Windows 8 is RTM'd you will see normal and regular OS Updates but in pre-release it will be milestone driven. Looks like Google needs to update Chrome to better support Windows 8 uses the correct APIs.

Re: Windows 8 CP keyboard in desktop mode
you can click on the lower right keyboard button which then shows the various key layouts an on the right end is hide the keyboard button that should work even if the x doesn't. chrome seems to call the keyboard up if you click on a text field.
