Re: Series 7, windows 8 installation and drivers
Well the Wacom digitiser on my slate 7 did not get its driver. Thus it is working as a mouse and not a pen. You can confirm this yourself if your machine works but you can't hold and right click and the eraser end of the pen works like the tip. If that's the case and you look in device manager you will find you are a mouse HID and not a digitizer. I think that this one of the reasons why the machine works well with a mouse or well with touch but is, honestly rubbish as a tablet.
Whilst I appreciate the frowning face graphic on the blue screen of death, it gets old after a dozen or so times..... This crashing always happens using tablet related functions on software.
Does anybody know how to get win 8 to see the digitizer as a digitizer and not a mouse?

@tre4
For Windows8 we need new drivers from Samsung to enable full Wacom features and to enable rotation.Last edited by saturn3000; 03-06-2012 at 08:02 AM.

@Judebox
The right click menu with touch is very annoying on Windows8, surely Samsung will release some optimization.
To improve this situation you can follow these guidelines:
Control Panel
Hardware and sound
Pen and touch
Touch
Press and hold
Settings
Change speed and duration

Re: Series 7, windows 8 installation and drivers
I already tried. It is more easier to get the right click but it doesn't solve the problem...
When holding the finger, we can see that the circle flickers like if we were multitaping... There was no problem with Windows 7.
Does anybody know if this bug was on the Developer Preview ?

There are some wacom enhanced drivers that give a better performance also with our Samsung Slate 7
- Download at this link 706-707.7z download
- Install 707-4 version (may give some errors at the end, don't worry)
- Install 706-5 and then 707-4 again

Re: Series 7, windows 8 installation and drivers
The bug was there in DP.
Strangely I've had luck after installing a screen protector, I think because it reduces the sensitivity of my finger actions.
Which leads me to wonder if decreasing the touch sensitivity will increase the hold to right click usability.
Does anyone know the registry settings for touch sensitivity or where to find/adjust it?

Re: Series 7, windows 8 installation and drivers
Quick question for everyone running the CP - what happens with your slate when you press the Windows hardware button?
Now, what happens when you double-press it?
Seems to be working differently than it did in the DP (pressing the hardware Windows button went right to the Start screen).
