Re: *Official* Samsung Series 7 Slate Thread
Anyone that picked up the Slate from the MS retail store have any luck getting the dock included? LA store told me no and its only online promotion so just curious.

I don't know about the GPS anyway. I had a Vaio P back in the days when it was cool
and the GPS on that was awful.

Re: *Official* Samsung Series 7 Slate Thread
ewoodrick - yes I know, I said as much, but it not an elegant solution. Disabling the need in the Local Group Policy is an elegent solution but can be overridden by higher level Group Policies (Site, Domain or OU).
It is an oversite by Samsung, but MS removed the requirement during the Vista UMPC era...
Oh well, I love my Slate 7

Re: *Official* Samsung Series 7 Slate Thread
This is the consumer focus of Samsung coming through as opposed to the Corporate focus of Dell, Fujitsu, HP, Motion, and Toshiba. I am not saying that a consumer focus is a bad thing but C-alt-D is not used in the wild anymore so most consumers see it as a negative to have one.

Re: *Official* Samsung Series 7 Slate Thread
A question: how does one connect the S7S to an overhead projector, assuming the latter does not have a DVI input (only VGA)? Thanks! BTW, I was crushed by the earlier poster who said the slates at the IL store were all spoken for... I guess I'll just have to wait :-(

Marciano - off the Dock, you can use the HP HDMI to VGA adapter or a USB 2.0 video card (usually using a DisplayLink video card).
Dan - at least the A04 is targeted to the enterprise with TPM included.Jeff Roach - MCLC, MCT

Re: *Official* Samsung Series 7 Slate Thread
@dceggert
"This is the consumer focus of Samsung coming through ..."
I agree. The general public opinion (opinion?) is that, Ctrl-ALt-Del exists solely to reboot when Windows hangs. This is an opinion, not a fact.
This opinion (not fact) is so pervasive that including a Ctrl-Alt-Del key is ridiculed by many casual users, iFans and most of the technical press/blogosphere.
I think this is less a case of consumer focus than a case of sacrificing functionality for marketability.
