    Are there ANY local stores in the USA that sell this thing? It's killing me, and I don't want to order one and then have to deal with not easily being able to return it if it doesn't fit all my needs.

    The Microsoft Store has them, it's a brick & mortar store besides online.

    ...If you have a local Micro Center, they are on sale there, too.

    Also, Best Buy for Business ( Best Buy For Business - Home ) offers three models, e.g.:

    Samsung Series 7 Slate PC - tablet - Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit - 128 GB - 11.6" - black - XE700T1A-A0 - Best Buy For Business

    Thanks for the responses, none of those are local in my city.. which is the largest city by square miles in the US.. go figure.. Our coolest stores are BestBuy and CompUsa at the moment

    BB even for business has to order in the slates, I guess at least I can return it straight to the store.. probably my best bet.

    @capricorn

    I have experienced the BSOD a couple of times
    it seems the battery was low and/or I put in the dock and pulled it off while awake. Haven't tried to reproduce or though.

    deuces
    Current:
    • Samsung Series 7 XE700T1A-A04US 11.6-Inch Slate(128 GB, Win 7 HP) - possible bezel issue but great otherwise... all spouses have flaws

    Past:
    • HP TouchSmart tm2t - grainy screen and tippy
    • HP Slate 500 - totally underpowered

    Hey, new and have one of these. Having the bezel issue and sorting it out between John Lewis/Samsung... long story, am on the second and will add to the poll (although I no longer have the first so no idea of that ones serial).

    I just wanted to ask - I have the 64GB and only 22gb of free space, what can I legitimately get rid of on it to free some up? I'll inevitably get a MicroSD at some point (if I end up keeping it - depends on what happens to that bezel). Many thanks in advance!

    I had that problem when I put the slate in power saving mode. Changing it to microsoft signature battery mode seems to have fixed the problem.

    I had the BSODs when I used the WWAN modem. Seems the driver does not like it when you put the Slate to sleep. Tried to change to hibernate but that did not fix it. So the only way for me to be sure it works is to disable the WWAN adapter when I do not use it.
