Norton AntiVirus 2006 Beta - Available For Free Download

Feeling a bit daring? The Norton AntiVirus 2006 beta has been posted today as a free download. Although we installed the new beta on our Toshiba Tecra M4 Tablet PC without a hitch, we still reccomend you proceed with caution with any beta. For those brave souls who decide to go for it, may we suggest you do the following prior to installing:

1. Backup all critical data to a seperate drive or recordable media.
2. Create a "Windows Restore Point" (see Windows help if you are not sure how to do this).
3. Uninstall any antivirus software currently running on your machine.

If it's beta does that mean it is not as safe? If something gets past it will my 2005 NAV stoo it? Do I have to uninstall my 05 version?

I've never been a fan of Norton products at all.
I find their antivirus to be sluggish and resource consuming.

Unless they have improved this in recent years?

Thanks for free Norton Antivirus 2006 but i think the most stable version of Norton Antivirus is 2004 download free Norton Antivirus from http://www.softdownloadz.com/free/re...fessional/426/ and use for free

I note although the graphic shows 2004, the text says "Free Download Norton AntiVirus 2006 and protect computer".

Having said all that, not withstanding the fact it's free? I still would not use Norton.
