EverNote 2.0 Now In Beta
EverNote 2.0 extends its Advanced Note Recognition (ANR) technology with Advanced Image Recognition Search (AIR-Search) in images as well as a variety of user interface enhancements and new features.

This beta is a 90-day trial version of EverNote Plus. After the 60-day trial period, it will revert to a free permanent version of EverNote. Their plan is to offer all beta users the option of automatically upgrading to the final release of EverNote. Listed below are some of the new key features.
- Advanced Image Recognition (AIR): Search photos and graphics stored in your notes to find embedded typed or handwritten text. Use it for snapshots of whiteboards, product labels, in-store packaging and pricing, business cards, trade show badges and more.
- Note List: For added convenience with longer tapes of notes, a new Note List button on the toolbar allows you to display an index of your notes for the currently selected category by auto-generated or manually entered title.
- Category Locator : For users with a large number of categories, a new Categories button displays a search box to quickly locate a category by name or partial name.
- Time Categories: A new built-in Auto Category is available that enables you to easily search for notes by date or date range, from when they were created.
- Flag Categories A new built-in Auto Category is available that enables you to flag notes and search for flagged notes.
- Embedded To-Dos: Click Ctrl-Shift-C anywhere to place a checkbox at the cursor position in any note. This means the note will automatically appear in the ToDo category until all of the boxes are checked off.
- Category Stamp Dialog: Improved tabs allow fast and simple assignment and removal of notes in Manual and Automatic categories.
- Universal Clipper: A new, experimental tool used to clip any visible screen content quickly and conveniently into EverNote or to the clipboard and paste into any application. The Clipper is an optional separate download that requires EverNote to be running.
This release comes just two weeks after EverNote announced they were including their software on all Fujitsu LifeBooks and Stylistic Tablet PCs.

What are the key capabilities for this product over OneNote 2007 + Office 2007? ( besides price, I imagine )

Yeh, I'm struggling with the same question. I hope someone can compare these.

Re: EverNote 2.0 Now In Beta
I think onenote looks more friendly, however after fiddling around with evernote it appears that it has very similar features. The only thing i dislike about it is the fact that ink notes and types notes are two entirely different things (aka their is no way to type on a ink note, or to draw on a typed note
)
