Infinity Blade 2 Review: If It Ain't Broke... Discussion
Infinity Blade 2, available on both the iPad 2 and original iPad, is more of a good thing, assuming you liked the first installment. Once again published by Epic Games and developed by Chair Entertainment, Infinity Blade 2 follows the exact same format of its predecessor, with extremely basic gameplay since the whole thing is on rails and combat relies on just a few simple gestures and taps. There are a handful of minor changes, but the gameplay itself is identical to that of the first and Chair really just inflated the game with a new (but very similar looking) venue, a mediocre storyline, and a bunch of new equipment.

Re: Infinity Blade 2 Review: If It Ain't Broke... Discussion
I got the original Infinity Blade about 5 minutes after it first launched, and was almost immediately disappointed. The preview included a beautifully-rendered town and castle that I enjoyed wandering through, and I looked forward to going on quests through that landscape. Instead, as Grant pointed out, the actual game puts you on rails so all there is to do was walk directly from one battle to another.
And the fighting itself was repetitious. There were just a few gestures you could use for attack and defense, and you had to fight the same monsters over and over. Yes, the backdrops and enemies were very cool-looking, but that's not enough.
I'm sad that the new version just adds more of the same. Oh well, at least I learned this before I wasted another $6.
The next version of Infinity Blade should add magical attacks that are accomplished through new gestures. This way, you wouldn't always have to use your sword/axe/etc, but could sometimes cast spells instead. This would bring some diversity to the game. Also, it would be great to walk around on our own and pick who we want to fight.

Re: Infinity Blade 2 Review: If It Ain't Broke... Discussion
... and as great at Infinity Blade 2 looks today, it has some serious competition in tablet gaming:
OnLive Launches Free Gaming App for Tablets and Smartphones
I think OnLive is really going to have a huge and disruptive impact on the gaming market, and it makes tablets that much more attractive as laptop alternatives.
