Re: Lenovo ThinkPad X60 Tablet PC Review
The pen is pressure sensitive.
The Finger-touch is not.

Re: Lenovo ThinkPad X60 Tablet PC Review
Hi, I'm thinking about buying the X60t but I'm wondering: Do all the models with the XGA screen have touch-screen (finger) capabilities, or only certain ones? The one I'm looking at is the 63666AU, with XGA. Thanks!

Re: Lenovo ThinkPad X60 Tablet PC Review
Hi mahmood357,
It's only select models only. The one you are looking at (63666AU) is just the XGA screen with an active digitizer. What you're looking for is the MultiTouch/MultiView (or EasyTouch/UltraView) XGA screen option; something like the 63668KU. The 63668KU is about $300 more over the 63666AU.

Re: Lenovo ThinkPad X60 Tablet PC Review
I love the X60 on paper... Help me make a decision please
In May I begin Oriental Medicine School... 39 months of a "full load" classes... I’ve used computers in classes for note taking and love it, but much time was spent building diagrams using MS Word objects... A hard way to go..
I'm looking at the IBM Lenovo X60T loaded... It's expensive, but I love that it's small and lite... Has no optical drive...Most people hate that but with the docking bay, ($200.00)has everything I need but I need not carry it around the campus all day...
OK questions... The screens are said to be grainy... (can't find a single one to demo anywhere!)Yuck! How bad are they...?
The sound is almost none existent (not a real problem, since I'd use buds if I really want to list to something that require fidelity)
In addition, I heard that the Support for these is very poor, any comments?
However, I heard these notebooks are rock solid... Comments Please......
Since I'll be taking Bio and physiology, acupuncture, etc... I think the tablet is essential...
Also I'll be in the clinic 36 out of the 39 month... A small tablet will be great for taking notes while interviewing and evaluating the clients, without the need of a desk, or having a screen between them and me...
Please people I need input... I love good laptops and for the money, I could get a Mac Book Pro or just about anything else... I know I'll be compromising things such as resolution and sound, screen size, etc... but I really feel I need the tablet...
Lastly, what is the best software to use for note taking...? one which reads bad handwriting best...?
Many thanks...Gabriel

Re: Lenovo ThinkPad X60 Tablet PC Review
very nice review on the x60.
i really liked the displays and the info provided.
My question is on the MultiView/MultiTouch 12.1" XGA (1024x768) TFT -Vs- the 12.1" SXGA+ (1400x1050) TFT How much differnce is the picture quility between the two?
form the pictures on the web it is hard to tell, I do a lot of reading and prefer larger font over smaller font, Form the pictures on the wed both XGA and XGA+ look like really nice pictures could some one tell me a little more about this please??
some people are saying that the MultiView/MultiTouch indoor outdoor is easier to read and view is this ture please???

Re: Lenovo ThinkPad X60 Tablet PC Review
I am a student interested in buying a Lenovo Tablet PC, but I do have
some questions first. There are a lot of questions so I will thank you
ahead of time for answering so many questions. I emailed these same questions to IBM to get some answers but wanted to hear what the community had to say.
Is there a lenovo tablet with a Duo Core 2 currently available (or
planned for in the future? if so about how long?)(Haha.. or a quad
core?)?
If there is not a Duo Core 2 or Quad Core available, what is the
highest ghz processor available in the Duo Core?(Your website says you
offer 1.8, but I only see 1.6 as an option for purchase)
If I opt for the WVA SXGA+ TFT screen does it not have pen and
touch sensitivity?
What is the difference between multitouch and multiview?
How many levels of pressure do the pen/pressure sensitive screens offer?
If I purchased a screen that was sensitive to touch and the pen,
would there be writing/drawing difficulties if I rest my palm on the
screen to draw with the pen?(would the tablet default to using my pen
as the mode of input?)?
Can you opt to not get the integrated air card(not WAN, but the one
where you pay a cell phone company monthly for internet service)?
What does the ThinkPad Adjustable Notebook Stand [add $62.10] stand
look like?
What is a Computrace LoJack?
Could I get a comparison sheet for the difference between each
screen available?(pen sensitivity/ pressure sensitivity levels/ touch
sensitivity/ brightness/ resolution/ contrast/ sharpness/ wacom
digitizer(yes or no))

Re: Lenovo ThinkPad X60 Tablet PC Review
I'll answer most, if not all, of your questions. Please note that I am not a Lenovo X60 Tablet PC owner, I'll leave current X60 owners to correct my explanations below in their own replies.

1.) There should be a Core 2 Duo Low Voltage (LV) or Ultra Low Voltage (ULV) processor for the Lenovo X60 soon, perhaps alongside with the release of the Santa Rosa platform next month. I don't think a Quad Core is in the works until maybe sometime near the end of this year or next year, I'm speaking generally for Tablet PCs.
2.) 1.83 GHz was the option that was available last year in November, Lenovo has had manufacturing delays, thus the Intel Core Duo LV L2500 processor is not available for the X60 at this time.
3.) No, the SXGA+ does not have both pen and touch sensitivity, just the pen. The XGA MulitView/MultiTouch, however, does feature both pen and touch.
4.) MultiTouch: Pen and Touch. MultiView: Wide-angle viewing screen.
5.) Pen: 256 levels, I'm unsure if it has 512 levels, but usually it is 256. Touch: None.
6.) If you were to write write with the pen, it will only accept the pen response. The pen takes presidence over touch; thus there would be no vectoring (or multiple inputs through touchscreens registering on applications like OneNote).
7.) Computrace LoJack is like LoJack for the car, but for the computer. If you report your system lost, the software installed on your system will periodically check with Computrace to check if it is reported stolen. If it is, then when the thief who took it, connects the system to the Internet, the system will phone home with IP information which helps local authorities to locate your system.
