Default M1400 or LE1600

Ok, im going with a used Motion as they seem really good quality but need help to choose. The M1400 has a little slower cpu but the flex dock and keyboard attachments are easy to find and usually cheap. However, the LE1600 has a faster CPU. I am a student and will only be using this to take notes, view PDF e-books, and type papers; so my question, is the LE1600 worth an adittional $240.

Here are the units im looking at, keep in mind ill will upgrade either to the max RAM it will handle.

Also, is there a bid difference in viewability of the screen between the two.

the speed difference is not hugely significant, they're the same generation processor, so it might be a better idea to go w/ the one w/ accessories.

Expect also to have to invest in some new batteries.

If the M1400 has View anywhere that would be a good deal. The LE 1600 has View Anywhere, that makes a big difference with over head lights (better view vs no View AW). I bought 2 x LE 1600 with View Anywhere (second one for parts) and I highly recommend the View Anywhere screen. I use my slate daily for my agenda (Go Binder). If you have to pay more for View Anywhere you will be better off in the long run. also there is only 512 mg with the M1400 vs more ram, 1536 MB with the LE 1600. 40 gig HD = M1400 vs 60 gig = LE 1600. Plus the LE 1600 is newer. So... the LE Bigger HD, more ram and View anywhere.

Not sure if you purchased. But it's worth noting that the accessories for the LE1600 also work for the LE1700 (current generation) so you could update to the 1700 when the price drops and use all your accessories.
