    Default Ubuntu on a Hp COMPAQ TC4400 tablet

    Just like the title states got a 4400 tablet and it has vista on it wanna either go to windows XP or ubuntu how would i go to ubuntu and would like to still have the comp work as a tablet so i dont wanna lose that fuctionality.

    Anyone that could help would be much appreciated. I looked at the guides but i dont know the tablet drivers and everything so i was hoping someone could give me an answer and tell me what to do thanks a lot.

    Ubuntu 9.04 has wacom enabled by default, so your pen will work without any modifications. As for drivers, they can all be obtained via the update manager.

    Ubuntu lacks the "Tablet Input Panel" that is in windows, which is a unfortunate downside. Programs like Cellwriter can make up for that, along with the fact that there is new programs coming out every day.

    Just follow my guide and you should be just fine .

    Thanks a lot i really appreciate it jsut wanted to make sure i had no clue what wacom was when i originally read your guide thats why i started the thread. Thanks a lot
