Re: SXGA+ screen part number
Typically, Lenovo's policy on self service is... if you break it while working, it's not covered. If it's something you put it that wasn't a warranty service part, it's not covered by the laptop's warranty.

Re: SXGA+ screen part number
Personally I wouldn't consider changing a motherboard to be too difficult either, but for your "Average User"™ it would probably be impossible. I don't know, if I tried to reglue the screen because its coming off the bezel, and that glue didn't hold either, they'd probably blame the issue on me and say they won't fix it. I'd rather not provide them with any excuses for them to void the warranty, seeing as their customer service is ****ed up enough as-is. In any case, good luck with trying to order a replacement screen. To be honest, I could picture IBM being willing to sell you one, maybe even at a reasonable price if you tried hard enough, but I just can't see Lenovo doing it.

Re: SXGA+ screen part number
Lenovo doesn't sell replacement parts, only accessory parts.
IBM does the replacement parts sales. No more tablets...

Re: SXGA+ screen part number
Honestly, I'd look from other suppliers.
When you buy directly from IBM, you're buying from the mainframe company in the 1960's. The best support that money can buy, damn good hardware... but you pay the price, and then some.
That's why the PC division was bleeding money like crazy before they sold it to Lenovo - the PC market can't support IBM prices. No more tablets...
