X60 multitouch not working
Hello to all,
I have a problem with a brand new X60 tablet with the multitouch screen. Before calling the tech support, I would like to know if anybody had this problem before, because it seems a silly problem but make the computer unusable at all!
I have XP tablet pc edition 2005 with all updates, and updated drivers of everything from lenovo website.
I have calibrated the active digitizer with the pen, and the touch panel with my fingers. both of them seem to work, but when I try to draw something in microsoft OneNote or QuickNotes, it seems that the software feel two inputs, one from the active digitizer and one from the touchpanel, and you get a double line, clearly owned to both devices not exactly calibrated at the same point. In QuickNotes, it is worse: you get a single line jumping erratically from one position to another.
If you try to drag a Windows's window with the pen, you can see how the window is bumping from one location to another.
The worst part: if you switch the (finger) touch panel off, the jumping is from the position of the pen the center of the screen!, it is almost IMPOSsIBLE to draw a line or move an icon or window.
I have been using another tablet (fujitsu stylistic) from about 3 years and this (otherwise promissing) multitouch technology is annoying. I have tried to configure everything I have found, even another drivers from wacom site, but still the problem remains.
Any help will be much appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Adolfo.

Re: X60 multitouch not working
It looks like you have some corruption here.
Do you have the recovery disks to hand?
If so I would try running the recovery software and see if this will sort out the problem.
Sometimes new machines do arrive to their owners with some software problem and the only course of action is to start from scratch I'm afraid.
You could also call Tech Support and ask them if they feel this would be the correct practice to carry out at this moment.

Re: X60 multitouch not working
Thankyou for your reply,
I have already reinstalled everything from the scratch, with no sucess. The computer arrived with Windows Vista and the problem was there from the very beginning. Then, I made a clean installation of XP tabletPC edition; the driver is different, but the problem remains.
This could be hardware failure. I have heard that the finger touch screen is disabled when the active pen is near the surface, may be this detection system is failing.
thanks anyway.
Adolfo.

Re: X60 multitouch not working
Well if you have tried both OS's and run the recovery for a complete reinstallation all without success Adolfo, then yes... I would say it looks like the digitizer may well be faulty.
I'd get on to Customer Services/Tech Support straight away.
