Default Superview SXGA+ vs Multiview SXGA+

    Hi all,

This has been a question that's been bugging me. I placed an order for the X61t, but the biggest factor that is pushing me to upgrade (aside from 64-bit capability which i need) is the Superview SXGA+ screen that is touted on the X61t vs X60t comparison page.

However, on the order page only two options for screens are available: Multiview SXGA+ and Multiview/Multitouch XGA.

I am betting, though I am not sure, that by Multiview SXGA+ they are actually referring to what the comparison page calls "Superview" SXGA+. My reasons for this line of thinking is that:
    1) on the X60t order page, the SXGA+ screen is simply called WVA SXGA+ and not "Multiview WVA SXGA+".
    2) on the X61t vs X60t comparison page the vanilla, non-multiview/superview SXGA+ screen not listed as an option for the X61t. Only screen options according to that page are Superview SXGA+, Multitouch/Multiview XGA, and vanilla XGA.

Of course this could all be crap and the first X61t's could end up shipping with the same SXGA+ screen as I have on my X60t now, and I'd be very angry!

Thoughts? If anyone has the time to call up Lenovo to clarify this, it would be great.

To be frank Yeang, I thought the x61 was the same as the x60, in that if you wish MultiTouch you can only obtain it in XGA.

actually, other than the Multitouch XGA, Lenovo is only selling the X61t with an SXGA high res screen right now, which is a lower res than the SXGA+

    P8rson,

I'm referring to whether the SXGA+ screen available now is improved over the X60 SXGA+ screen. I don't want or need multitouch, my question is whether the "Multiview SXGA+" that is offered right now on the Lenovo website as a option for the X61 is indeed the indoor-outdoor screen that is one of the touted features of the X61 called "Superview".

Aphex, the SXGA is a typo. Someone called and asked Lenovo, and posted on thinkpad forums that it is indeed SXGA+ (i.e. 1400x1050).

    Yeang,
Again I am under the impression the screens from the x60 and x61 are the same.

Anyone with other different information or further on this please do post and let us know.

Not sure if this helps, but according to tabletpc2.com First impression of the X61 Tablet "Another noticeable feature is the screen appears to be both clearer and brighter on the New X61."

Do we have any confirmation that they are indeed equipping orders for sxga with an sxga+ screen? Reps seem to have told people this, but Lenovo has yet to change it to sxga+ on the configuration page. This is so confusing

I called today and talked to a rep who did confirm that the sxga screen listed on the configuration page is actually sxga+, it's just a typo. And they should be shipping by the end of this month.

Apparently Lenovo finds it extremely difficult to add a "+" to the description, only super highly trained professionals trained in Nepal can hit that key and they are trying to find one asap.
